Newton Park, originally named Fairview, is an upper-middle class suburb surrounding a business district providing an atmosphere of a CBD with a family friendly feeling.
With Cape Road running down the centre of Newton Park the suburb has seen a change over the last 10 years and rezoning of erven on the North-East side of Cape Road led to residential properties being sold and turned into business premises. This type of businesses includes office space and warehousing and are usually rezoned to Business 1-3.
